What is Bhagwat-Dham (भगवत्-धाम) ?
भगवत्-धाम - अर्थात् जो भगवान् की प्रेम पूर्वक सेवा - भक्ति, गुणगान आदि का धाम(निवास स्थान) है Bhagwat-Dham - means Home of Bhagwan (Lord Krishna, the supreme power)
Unfolding "Bhagwat-Dham" :
- भ (bha) - भक्ति (bhakti), अर्थात् भगवान् की प्रेम पूर्वक सेवा; Devotional worship of Lord Krishna
- ग(ga) - गान(Gaan),भगवान् के नाम-रूप-लीला आदि का गुणगान; Singing Lord Krishna's praises
- व(wa) - वैराग्य(Vairagya),संसार के नाशवान् वस्तु-व्यक्ति की आसक्ति से वैराग्य ; (Detachment from perishable things-people, pains and pleasures of world )
- त् (t) - त्याग (Tyaag),संसारिक महत्वाकांक्षाओं का त्याग; Leaving or Abandoning of Ambitions
- धाम(dham)- निवास स्थान; घर (Home)
The Bhagwat Puran (Hindi: भागवतपुराण), also known as Shrimad Bhagavatam or Bhagavata, literally meaning Divine-Eternal Tales of the Supreme Lord Krishna. It is the great (Maha) Puranic texts of Hinduism, with its focus on religious devotion (bhakti) to Supreme God Lord Krishna. The Bhagwat Puran is considered to be the purest and greatest of all the puranas, since it invokes devotion towards Lord Krishna. The Bhagwat Puran truly reveals the means for becoming free from all material work, together with the processes of pure transcendental knowledge, renunciation and devotion to Lord Krishna and anyone who seriously tries to understand, hears and chants the verses of Bhagwat Puran with devotion to Lord Krishna, becomes completely liberated from material bondage and attains liberation (moksha) from the cycle of births and deaths in the material world.
